Donate a Scholarship
Instructions to donate a scholarship:
First, you will select the program you would like to donate to.
Pay it Forward - Choose this one if you are considering being a donor AND a scholarship applicant. Make sure to fill in child type.
Traditional - This one will help students in general at the school you suggest. Leave child type at "Any."
Choose the scholarship amount that is right for you.
100% of the amount you donate will go to the school. Plus, the state will pay you.
You can be reimbursed 100% of your Georgia State tax liability up to $2,500. In addition, your contribution is tax deductible on your Federal taxes. You actually end up with more than when you started.
You can donate a larger amount, but any amount above the tax credit will only qualify as a charitable deduction.
The pre-approval process usually takes about 30 days.
The Scholarship Process
We will use the information you submit to complete the Georgia preapproval form, and then we will electronically submit the preapproval request to the Department of Revenue.
Once approved, the Georgia Department of Revenue will mail you an approval letter. When you receive your letter, simply mail a copy along with your check within 60 days to Pay it Forward Scholarships.
A scholarship equal to the amount of your donation will be on its way to the school and we will email you a gift receipt so that you can recieve all your tax benefits.
Know someone who could use a scholarship?
Please provide the information on our secure application and we will send an email inviting them to apply for a scholarship from an anonymous donor.
